Footsteps Dance Academy:
Founded by Bill & Kelley Taylor in 1997, the couple felt led to offer classical ballet & Pointe in a God honoring learning environment Footsteps is known for outstanding Ballet, Contemporary Jazz & Irish Dance technique. From its humble beginnings at Salisbury Christian School to its current location in the E.S. Adkins Business Center, Footsteps' reputation for producing well rounded dancers who are properly prepped forprofessional audition has grown with each passing season.
Artistic Director:
Kelley Taylor brings a lifetime of
professional dance and theatre performance
experience to her students. Mrs. Taylor is fully certified by Dance Master's of America, our nation's most prestigious dance organization. She trained at The Washington School of Ballet in our nation's capital with the legendary Mary Day and other renown teachers. Her additional studies include Dance Conservatory, Dover DE & many others including the fine local studio and pre-professional company of her childhood. She is the founder and director of the Academy & of Footsteps Irish Dancers, and of The Atlantic Youth Ballet.
Her choreography has won many
awards over the years as Footsteps' Competition Dance Team traveled and
competed in professional regional dance competitions. Footsteps Dance Academy fosters the love of movement and music that resides so naturally in those who want to dance. Many Footsteps' students have gone on to dance & study professionally at institutions including: The Ballet Theater of Maryland (Professional Company) Ballet Magnificat (Professional Company) The North Carolina School of the Arts, BTM school, Maryland Youth Ballet, DeSales University SDI, School of American Ballet, & University NC Greensboro, among others

Mrs. Tori Anderson is our Pre-School dance specialist. Her tender and attentive teaching method has been a blessing to our very youngest students. Affectionately known as "Miss Tori", this mother of 3 majored in dance at University of Maryland College Park.
Miss Meredith Emerson: Jazz & Contemporary, began her dance studies at age 3. She joined Footsteps Dance Academy at age 8 and advanced to become a veteran member of our competition team and Irish company, Footsteps Irish Dancers. A gifted choreographer, Miss Emerson began teaching at Footsteps when she was 18 and 2 of her dances "Two Worlds" and "Thunder" won special awards at competition! She participated in numerous pageants over the years winning top honors for her self choreographed solos! In addition to her dance training at Footsteps, Miss Emerson has taken master classes with Dance Master's of America and most recently has been studying advanced Modern and Jazz with Jessica Hidman-Wheatley at Salisbury University. Now in her 20's Miss Emerson returns to Footsteps as we return to competition. Her choreography is challenging, touching and cutting edge!
